ART BLAKEY & THE JAZZ MESSENGERS: Free For All LP (Blue Note [USA] ST-84170) 1965.
Jacket is VG+ due to front and rear cover ringwear, the word “taped” written on front cover in ballpoint pen. Record is EX. From a large single-owner collection (see our other auctions for more from the same collection). The previous owner made a habit of taping his LPs as he bought them and only playing the tapes to preserve the condition of his vinyl. So, most of the records we are listing from this collection are either Excellent or Near Mint even in cases where the jackets are not. We regret that he didn’t store his records in outer sleeves and that he added his name to many of the records which has led to some wear and lower grades to jackets of otherwise NM records. Better than the other way around though! See each record description for condition specifics. 1st pressing, features New York USA address on deep grooved blue & white labels, “Van Gelder” stamped in deadwax, 43 West 61st St. address with New York 23 on back cover, non-laminated cover, Printed in U.S.A. on back cover. Vinyl is a very clean Excellent, nearly near mint, it does not appear to have been played much at all.price rating
