ART BLAKEY – ART BLAKEY’S BIG BAND – BETHLEHEM 4018 – EX/EX – MONO
Recorded in December of 1957, the personnel is as follows: Donald Byrd, Idrees Sulieman, Bill Hardman, Ray Copeland (tp) Melba Liston, Frank Rehak, Jimmy Cleveland (tb) Sahib Shihab, Bill Graham (as) John Coltrane (ts) Al Cohn (ts,arr) Bill Slapin (bar) Walter Bishop, Jr. (p) Wendell Marshall (b) Art Blakey (d) Bill Scott (arr). They perform: SIDE A: MIDRIFF, AIN’T LIFE GRAND, TIPPIN’ and PRISTINE. SIDE B: EL TORO VALIENTE; THE KISS OF NO RETURN; LATE DATE and THE OUTER WORLD. This is a MONO recording.
Both the vinyl and the record jacket have been graded EX for the following reasons. The vinyl has a few marks on Side A but Side B seems to be clean. There is no sign of wear in the spindle hole, but there are a few marks around it on both sides. The record jacket just misses a M- grade as the cover is totally clean but there is some wear on the right side of the liner notes. There are no taped seams. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
PLEASE NOTE: I received a question regarding the surface of the vinyl and the marks on it. I have provided two photos, as best I could take to this item. I've played this on my own turntable and they do not interfere with play as far as I can tell.
PAYMENT & SHIPPING
Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.10 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $3.17 or by Priority Mail @ $7.25 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Package International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $22.75 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has continued to hammer overseas shipping!
