Extremely rare norwegian only pressing record from norvegian composer Arne Nordheim on norvegian Philips label(have a look at my other auctions for more scandinavian electronic stuff!!)
Norwegian composer Arne Nordheim was the first norvegian to compose electronic music back in 1961, delivering some of the greatest works from the era, like Response I-II-III, Epitaffio for magnetic tape and others. He has also written a big variety of works for different media. Here one can find the classic "Response I for magnetic tape and 2 percussion groups" in its' 1st performance, a unique electronic music piece with the fullest exploitation of electronic sound materials(filtrated white noise, sinustone complexes, and elements of filtrated organ and metal sounds)distributed in time and space. Impressive is the "Epitaffio per nastro magnetico e orchestra", an obscure experiment with magnetic tape, which is one of the first pieces written for electronic music medium in the late 50's. The record closes with the "Canzona per orchestra", a piece in the same vein as Penderecki's "Threni", a piece that received great recognition in experimental music festvals throughout the 60's. This is one of his most scarce records, original norvegian pressing from the 60's and nearly never turns up for sale!! Get this NOW!!
