Tape speed is usually 15ips but we also sell recordings at 7.5ips, 3.75ips and occasionally 30ips.
Every tape has been checked for quality. Most of the tapes are in near perfect condition but If there's a problem, we'll tell you. You won't have to "guess" about what you are getting. Some time ago, we were fortunate to have been able to purchase a very large tape library that at one time resided in Los Angeles, California. The library belonged to a company that did consumer testing and research for the music industry. There are hundreds of tapes in this collection. Some are single artist tapes and some are multiple artist tapes. Because WE LISTEN TO EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY TAPE it takes a lot of time to go through them. We will get them listed as regularly and frequently as possible.

The tapes come in several formats. 15ips 2 (or half) track, 15ips 1/4 track, 7.5ips 2 (or half) track and 7.5ips 1/4 track. ALL TAPES BEING SOLD ARE ORIGINAL!

There is a clear line of title to all of the tapes in the collection. All of us were saddened today to learn of the death of Aretha Franklin. She wasn't just America's "Queen Of Soul", she belonged to the world. The world is a lesser place without her. The tapes we are listing today were in the que of tapes to be listed this week. When we started work on these we had no idea she was ill, no less so near death. Please take these auctions of Aretha's music as a celebration of her life. That is  the spirit in which they are being listed.

Up for auction is this 15ips 1/2 track Master Tape of three of Aretha Franklin's best songs as listed above. These songs were pulled from a tape recorded by Kinney Music (Atlantic in Germany) for an album to be pressed in Yugoslavia. The tape is beautifully recorded and the sound is excellent with stunning separation! There is leader at the head and tail of the reel and each song is separated by timing tape. It is recorded in the NAB format with no noise reduction. There are no tones.

This tape is recorded on AGFA PEM-468. It IS NOT subject to sticky-shed and will NEVER need baking! The tape played perfectly on our machines. It comes on a 7" reel and in the box shown.

All tapes are shipped tails out (they need to be rewound BEFORE playing!)
