Description
Great baroque-psych-folk Lp from 1969 on Columbia Records (comes with insert) produced by Al Kooper. This is a clean copy in Near-Mint condition. The cover is clean as well with only feint shelfwear and a sticker on the back cover from the record store in which it was originally purchased long ago. Insert and Columbia recs inner sleeve included.
NOTES: The acoustic, folk influenced group Appaloosa was the project of violinist Robin Batteau and guitarist, songwriter, singer John Parker Compton. Their lone release 1969's APPALOOSA, bears the heavy scent of the '60s coffeehouse scene, with overtones ... Full Descriptionof jazz (there's some nice saxophone work here) and Renaissance minstrel sounds (a la Steeleye Span) threaded through literate, melancholic singer-songwriter fare. The combination works nicely, and makes for a nice listen.
Appaloosa has a sound that is hard to put in a box, maybe folk rock baroque. The lead singer, John Compton, has an easy intimacy, which Robin Bateau's faithful cello complements through many of the ballads. Each song is a sweet private journey. The violin/cello solos and arrangements interweave to give the folk music a unique and unforgettable sound. This music is pure and vibrant, produced by the legendary Al Kooper.

All LPs come boxed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for LPs, plus the LPs are housed in clear plastic LP sleeves and bubblewrap. LP is removed from cover ( except for SEALED LPs) for shipping to prevent seam splitting. Once the parcel is mailed I am in no way financially responsible for postal service problems. For foreign shipments that are delayed, I will be glad to supply the customs form number for your parcel as proof that it has been shipped.
