Selected Ambient Works, Vol. II is a more difficult and challenging album than Aphex Twin's previous collection.
The music is all texture; there are only the faintest traces of beats and forward movement.
Instead, all of these untitled tracks are long, unsettling electronic soundscapes, alternately quiet and confrontational; although most of the music is rather subdued, it is never easy listening
TRACK LISTING: All 25 tracks are untitled and only identified by a pie-chart on the labels to indicate their relative lengths.
NOTE: Side 5, Track 1 is not on the CD versions, but is included on the black vinyl and cassette editions

All six labels are clean and unmarked with barely any spindle traces to be seen

All six surfaces are unmarked and shine like-new
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
As coloured vinyl pressing are notorious for the sometimes poor sound they can deliver it is somewhat surprising that Warp decided to release this set on coloured vinyl at all.
The album by its very ambient nature has mostly very quiet passages with very sparse instrumentation which clearly highlight any faults this pressing (or the vinyl medium itself) may have.
This set however, delivers what I would consider the BEST audio you will find for this pressing.
There are of course some inevitable light ticks but nothing ever intrusive and all six sides play to an extremely high standard.
Certainly the cleanest sound I have heard for this press

The gatefold cover is as crisp, clean, sharp and fresh as the day it was made and the sticker to the front shows no sign of attempted removal

Both the insert and set of 4 stickers are in perfect condition
