Classic Records/RCA Living Stereo LDS-6065 (2-LP set). TT: 89:22  AAA+
Stereophile Record 2 Die 4 and TAS List.

This set is the Granddaddy of them all, the Mother and Father of all LPs. The Great One! Stunning sound captured by U.K. Decca engineers for RCA, in a way that's never been equaled. From the moment you drop the needle, you are captivated in a way different than any other recording. If you're a Tchaikovsky fan like me, you will go nuts when you hear these performance of Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. All the other works shine under Ansermet as well, especially Chopin's Les Sylphides, Schumann's haunting and poignant Carnaval and the Rossini-Respighi La Boutique Fantasque. This set will stand apart from your other records and give you years of joy!

FACTORY SEALED CLASSIC RECORDS 2-LP SET IN MINT/MINT CONDITION. Extremely well taken care of at all times, stored upright in a protective cover in a smoke-free air conditioned home. Rare (less than 5000 ever made) 33 RPM Audiophile edition. 2 LPs in a deluxe gatefold. Mastered by Bernie Grundman himself using the first generation 3-track UK Decca/RCA Living Stereo master tapes. Meticulously and loving pressed by RTI on Super Vinyl-Profile (SV-P) virgin vinyl.  This half-speed mastered 33 RPM 2-LP deluxe gatefold set achieved sound quality most major audiophile critics ranked better than the original RCA shaded dog -- with NO SURFACE NOISE!!!

Classic Records used the same master tape to make this record as RCA did, but Classic mastered it at half-speed, meaning the tape was played back at half speed while the master laquer was cut at half-speed. This process enables more of the frequency and spatial resolution of the musical signal to be transferred from tape to laquer, resulting in greater signal to noise ratio and wide dynamic range.

Then, after meticulously and artfully executing each of the several critical steps in between, super virgin vinyl was used to produce these stunning records, achieving incompably accurate transfer of the musical information from the stampers to the LP, and significantly reducing (basically eliminating) surface noise. On the other hand, even when they were new, many RCA shaded dogs suffered from high levels of surface noise, primarily because of poor or inconsistent vinyl

Airmail shipping is approximately $8.00 within the U.S., $14 to Europe and $17 to Asia. Multiple items won will be combined for discounted shipping.  This set will be shipped in a custom LP mailing box with extra protective padding added.
