The Animals were an English music group of the 1960s that was part of the British Invasion. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound and deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon, as exemplified by their signature song "House of the Rising Sun", the band balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm and blues-oriented album material. The Animals underwent numerous personnel changes and emerged as an exponent of psychedelic rock before dissolving at the end of the decade!!!!!.

The Animals is the Animals' UK debut album, released in 1964!!!.It differed in contents from the group's U.S. debut album, the identically-titled The Animals!!!!.

The Vinyl

This is the original 1st press HEAVY and thicker type of vinyl only found on 1st pressings later pressings were much more flimsier and less robust!! Also these havbe deeper grooves! From my experiance these originals produce the best audio quality and can not be surpassed!!!!

On visual inspection this vinyl in my opinion has not been overplayed retaining its original super gloss from new and looks superb!!! Veiwing the vinyl under strong light reveals very (very) few fine whyspy surface marks (mainly sleeve removal only) which have very little if (no) effect on the awesome audio that I heard at all!!!!. I have played this vinyl track for track prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system! This audio is truly stunning\awesome cristal clear and vibrant!!! with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all!!! A superb MONO example!! There are (no) loud clicks or pops during the play and no surface noise on my system indeed quite unbeleivable for a vinyl that is 42 years old!!, certainly (no) skips or jumps! In fact this plays near perfect on my system!!! Even between tracks and surface noise is absolutely minimal! A very very playable and enjoyable vinyl. TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!!!!!!!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion as usual when describing the audio quality of this vinyl! Although I never heard any problems at all! I must ask ,, Please allow for the odd static ticks\crackle! (not) consistant through out the audio!! Please remember that this is an original 40 year old vinyl that would have originaly been played on a 40 year old system!!!!!

The Labels

These are the original Columbia labels in superbe condition for 40 years old! eatures ''sold in the uk...''' across the labels (only 1st press) ''Made in England'' (only UK press) Minimal spidering can be seen angled to the light there is little if (no) spindle are the hole is perfectly round!

The record Sleeve

This is the original Emitex poly lined sleeve with ''Important'' no splits or tares just light staining \fading \light creasing  with age but in superbe condition!! ORIGINAL! Please note! The vinyl is now stored seperately from the sleeve and cover for protection! This is how I have always stored my records!!

The Cover

This is the original Garrod & lofthouse laminated front flipback cover!!! In absolutely awesome condition! Very minimal creases just one minor (crease top right corner )and super glossy laminate very light ringware can be seen if looked for angled inm light only. Very light storageware to the (corners bottom right) but in general nice and square (see photos). Very very hard to find like this after 42 years! There are no splits or tares no edge rubbing !!! the spine is awesome all writing can be clearly seen!!! The rear is exceptionally clean light feathering at the opening edge  !!! (normally seen very grubby) see photos at top example! THIS COVER WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS STRONG AND STRAIGHT!!!MUST BE AT LEAST EXCELLENT!!!!! unbeleivably 43 years old!!!!
