ANDY WARHOL'S VELVET UNDERGROUND DOUBLE LP 1971 MGM COKE BOTTLE COVER!!!!. Condition is Used.
This is your chance to own an original copy of Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground featuring Nico two record set vinyl LPs on the MGM Records label, 2683 006 Select. The records feature Velvet Underground tracks from 1967 and1969. The cover has the iconic Andy Warhol lips and Coca Cola art work on the front cover with a larger artwork in the inside centre fold, see photographs.
Condition is Used.
These records have been kept in a cool dry cupboard and un-played for well over 40 years having been purchased by me in the 1970s and then carried off to university and subsequent houses in a record box.
I have not played them, to check track quality, as I no longer have a respectable turntable fearing that one of today's modern USB record decks would act more like a plastic milling machine. My comments below are therefore based on a close visual inspection only. I have not cleaned the disc.
Disc 1 2354010 :
Side A:
The label 2354010 A lists tracks from 1969 is in good condition with only slight, minimal, rubbing to the central spindle hole, a few spindle rub marks and a small approx. 6mm diameter liquid mark which is only visible at oblique angles.
The disc surface is in good visual condition with some scratches which might result in ticking. There is some slight surface dust with few if any fingerprints. The Matrix / Runout is stamped with 2354010 A//1 ?420 1 1 13 and a 04 in second runout area location.
Side B:
The label 2354010 B lists tracks from 1967 is in good condition with minimal rubbing to the central spindle hole and no spindle rub marks.
The disc surface is in good visual condition with no visible scratches. There is some slight surface dust with few if any fingerprints. The Matrix / Runout is stamped with 2354010 B//1 ?420 1 11 4.
Disc 2 2354011 :
Side A:
The label 2354010 A lists tracks from 1967 is in good condition with minimal rubbing to the central spindle hole, a few spindle rub marks.
The disc surface is in good visual condition with no visible scratches. There is some slight surface dust with few if any fingerprints. The Matrix / Runout is stamped with 2354011 A//1 ?420 1 11 7 and a 04 in second runout area location.
Side B:
The label 2354011 B lists tracks from 1969 is in good condition with some light abrasion marks in the gold area to the upper right of the MGM logo which are only visible at an oblique angle.. There is minimal rubbing to the central spindle hole and no spindle rub marks.
The disc surface is in good visual condition with no visible scratches. There is some slight surface dust with few if any fingerprints. The Matrix / Runout is stamped with 2354011 B//1 ?420 1 11 1 and a 04 in second runout area location.
The photographs hopefully give some idea of the condition of the vinyl disc.
Sleeves:
The sleeves are in good overall condition with only light creasing and age related discoloration.
Cover:
The gatefold cover is in very good condition with no labels, impression marks or writing. The cardboard is smooth, clean and "crisp" with minimal rubbing and wear to the bottom edges and corners. The spine is in good condition with only some slight age related brown discolouration.
Please inspect the photographs carefully.
For shipping I will place the record in plastic wrapping and pack in double stiff corrugated packaging.
