Description

ANDY WARHOL ART

"MADRIGAL'S MAGIC KEY TO SPANISH  2"

These records were only available via mail order in 1953. THE JACKET is made of VELLUM (paper-basically): they are difficult to find in any condition. This particular example is in amazing shape - much better than you typically see on this piece. This is one of the rarest Andy Warhol LP covers due to the fact that the paper sleeves often did not hold up, and being a Spanish Language Instructional Record, most were considered to have little value as a record and were discarded over the years. This surviving copy is really nice.
Meant as an instructional record, this LP is among the rarest ANDY WARHOL early sketches every printed or produced. A true WARHOL and art collector's dream.  This is from Warhol's early period when he worked as an in house artist for Columbia records, etc.  This record has gone for upwards of $7500 in the past, and we are  starting this set at a low price to help any real collector or Andy Warhol lover can get it! This is a rare original pressing, not a reissue.
This item will be shipped with the vinyl outside of the sleeve to protect the precious art in a sturdy reinforced box.

Please Note My Conservative Grading System:

I use the following grades:    M  (mint, new sealed records only get this grade),
NM  (totally flawless but opened record - many other dealers would call this "mint", I only differentiate when the record is not factory sealed),
EX (only very minor signs of use)
VG+  (a *high* grade from me, record may show minor signs of use, but is in overall great shape and should play free from defect),
VG  (record may have some minor surface marks, but nothing that should detract from the listenability),    VG-  (may have a number of surface marks and may play with some noise, but still listenable and a decent play copy)
G  (I rarely list anything with this grade unless it is highly rare and valued, may have many surface marks, but still playable without skipping)

I have over 20 years experience in record dealing and grade conservatively.

Shipping note: Due to numerous postal problems I no longer ship to Italy or Brazil.

Addendum concerning overseas shipping since this is my most commonly asked question: The shipping price is as stated by ebay's shipping calculator on the auction page. Many overseas buyers are unaware that The United States Postal Service raised rates in January. Rates are significantly higher than they were last year. The cost is calculated by weight, which includes the sturdy heavy box and filler inserts I use to guarantee a safe trip overseas. The weight of the packaging unfortunately bumps the item into the higher cost of shipping bracket. The USPS no longer has a sea-mail shipping auction. The cost quoted is for standard airmail delivery and is actually the cheapest method available.

PLEASE NOTE: There is an error in the listing concerning the weight of the item for shipping. Ebay will not let me edit this, as the item already has bids. Cost of shipping this item in the US will be lower. Cost of shipping this item to Europe will probably be lower, but due to the rarity of this item and ebay rules regarding tracking info for buyer/seller protection will still require first class priority shipping and insurance - which is generally in the range of $50 USD
