Description

A spectacular, high-grade survivor of the Swing Era. While "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" is the quintessential anthem of WWII, finding a UK Brunswick (03147) pressing in this condition is a genuine feat. Most of these were "conscripted" into heavy service at dance halls and home parties during the Blitz; this copy, however, has been preserved with archival care.

​Wartime Gold-on-Black: Features the early-war Brunswick label. The gold-leaf lettering remains sharp—a hallmark of a disc that has been stored in a climate-controlled environment.
​ In a classic quirk of UK label hierarchy, "Bugle Boy" was actually the B-side here, with the A-side honors going to "Bounce Me, Brother, With A Solid Four."
Wartime Shellac: Pressed during a period of intense material rationing in Britain, the disc possesses that authentic, slightly "grainy" UK shellac texture—a tangible piece of 1940s industrial history.
Includes the original film credit to Universal’s "Buck Privates" (famously retitled Rookies for the UK market).
​ Features the iconic, driving solo of Cappy Lewis—uncredited on the label, but captured here in crisp, high-fidelity.
