Highly collectable original 1970 UK 1st pressing DOUBLE LP SET from these legendary late 60s early 70s German krautrock psych / prog pioneers.
This incredible double album has been mine from new and I doubt if you can EVER find a better condition original UK 1st PRESS copy! A beautiful thick textured gatefold cover that will be near impossible to ever find better. Both records look and play superbly!!
THIS DOUBLE LP COMES FROM A COLLECTOR (ME) WHOSE MAIN INTEREST WAS "COLLECTING" AND THIS LP MANAGED TO BE COLLECTED AND ONLY PLAYED TWO TIMES IN 40 YEARS!!!
YOU WILL NEVER FIND THIS LP AGAIN IN SUCH IMMACULATE TOP CONDITION.....TIME TO UPGRADE!!!
I have only played this album two times from new!! Once when originally purchased (I also bought this on cassette which is what I used to listen to back then) and today as I type these comments. Both albums play superbly....absolutely breathtaking!!
What an incredible album ! Certainly in the top 5 best krautrock albums of all times! The year 1970, when experimental music found its footing and Amon Duul II were at the forefront of the krautrock scene. Unlike Phallus Dei, which was almost completely extemporized, Yeti has one LP of near-complete improvisation and another LP of tightly-composed spacey heavy progressive krautrock. "Yeti" contains some of AMON DÜÜL's most impressive work, delivering their thick, full-fledged, multi-layered sound with dense instrumentation and a certain epic vastness. In many ways not unlike the craftmanship of early CAN. This is Krautrock in the full mass of its power: huge, towering, dark and completely devoid of any happy optimism, but still bound full of energy. Instrumentally this album is pure magic with some great psychy sitar'ish acoustic guitar plucking and hand percussion interplay. "Yeti" is abundant also in the fusion of electric guitar, bass and drum interplay. The second album is totally devoted to improvisation and in itself stands up as some of the most intriguing music you will ever hear. The first few AMON DÜÜL II albums are essential pieces of the psych/prog era and "Yeti" is a seminal album from this golden era. Take my advice, and add this mindblowing double album to your collection. It's their magnum opus, without a doubt!
Simply an astounding performance!
A truly magical and important double album and one that needs to be in any serious 70's krautrock / prog / psych record collection!!
Both LP's are in stunning 100% MINT condition.

Truly stunning and magnificent 2 LP set with beautiful gleaming vinyl surfaces, both discs have only been played two times from new! Visually both records are in MINT condition with beautiful clean playing surfaces. All 4 sides really do look virtually as new. These are top quality Liberty UK pressings which play with outstanding sound quality. Both records play essentially as new. There is no discernable deterioration in sound quality and barely any unwanted noise at all. If you are looking for that elusive perfect-playing copy of this wonderful album – this is it. I guarantee that you will not find a better one!
(The top quality Liberty records are solidly pressed and sit flat and true on the turntable. These two heavyweight discs have retained all there original intese glossy sheen and 'just pressed' looks. There is barely a mark on the vinyls anywhere, and even under intense light there is virtually nothing to see!! Truly stunning!! Super clean, shiny, intense black and very heavily pressed. An exceptional looking pair with nothing more than a tiny few ultra faint, fine surface traces - mere removal blemishes that only just show with angled viewing that barely any records ever escape as the barest minimum. A set played two times only (from new) including my play-grade today!! Visually superb records that should please all collectors. I have seen brand new records with more marks than this! A copy hardly even played which is unusual – for those who bought these German prog albums, most played them heavily – for fans of this genre, these were immensely popular. These super records play up to their visual grading with nothing to fault. Strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is very high indeed with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds barely even register and no pops or clicks were noted. Remember these albums have some very quiet passages that will test out any vinyl copy, but even these play virtually as silent as vinyl can be. Clearly this has been very well stored and looked after within a non-smoking environment. Nothing spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this Krautrock classic. This copy will prove very difficult, if not impossible, to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended. Both records deliver fantastic audio throughout with great powerful sound clarity. A fabulous original UK 1st pressing of this classic krautrock double LP and I believe the best you will ever find! The ultimate keeper copy for sure!!!)
Labels: EX (+)
(Highly attractive Liberty Records original Black, Green & Blue labels. Virtually unmarked except for two small circular stamps on one side only of each disc (see pics). No spindle traces are evident. Clearly a record little handled or likely played and finding this title significantly better will prove immensely difficult if not near impossible!)
Gatefold Sleeve: EX++ near MINT
The textured gatefold sleeve, printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford, is in EX++ near MINT condition (strictly graded) with only the lightest signs of wear and just two minor creases to the front top right corner. The front and back covers and opening gatefold spread are completely unmarked. The spine is square and solid with perfect text. You can see from the photos that this is near perfect example of this notoriously fragile sleeve which will be almost impossible to improve upon.
(A stunning gatefold format, thick heavily textured front and back, semi-sheen matt in the centre panels. 'Printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford'. An absolute stunning peach of a cover that will rarely ever be found better or even matched at all. A connoisseur standard cover in pristine preserved condition – one that time has forgotten. It will truly remind those around at the time what this once looked like when first issued, yes it really IS that good. There is just a very small light crease near the top edge and top right corner, to be honest with you this is very faint and hardly noticeable. The freshness and textured finish has to be seen and felt to be believed, and even under light there are few marks or blemishes and even fine hairlines have largely been avoided. Up there with one of the very best Krautrock covers you will ever see. The inner gatefold is pristine with a great centre spread picture – set the controls for the heart of the universe! When the gatefold is opened you have a pristine perfect middle. The spine is solid, thick, straight and square with all the text perfect and unworn. All seams are solid with only a couple of insignificant tiny little marks. Ultra clean and fresh, this beautiful gatefold sleeve will prove close to impossible to find significantly better!!)

Thick textured gatefold cover is also in EX++near MINT condition! Awesome second LP by these krautrock gods, among their best for sure, side two is an amazing trip opening with the devastating heavy pounder "Archangels Thunderbird" and it flips out completely as the side progresses. With regard to the early Krautrock scene, YETI is quite an essential item!
On offer here, from my own collection, is a MINT condition original UK 1st PRESS of the classic AMON DUUL 1970 double album 'YETI', issued on the UK 1st press Liberty Records label. The two LPs are housed in the beautiful original UK 1st press THICK TEXTURED gatefold sleeve 'Printed and Made by the E.J. Day Group, London and Bedford'.
In the early 70s, this version of Amon Düül II was churning out classic albums for fun! And here is another original UK 1st Pressing for your vinyl collection.
YETI was the band’s 2nd album, following on from the groundbreaking debut Phallus Dei, after breaking away from the original Amon Duul band due to musical differences and direction. So often compared to Hawkwind, Amon Duul II made some of the most stunning progressive rock sounds from the early 70s. Long acid-trip progressive freakout tracks with a spacy type sound at times, but unlike the Hawks, Amon Duul II had a female vocalist (Renate Knaup-Krotenschwanz). Personally I love all their early albums and YETI is yet another great work, a challenging double set that ranks as one of their very best. The importance of Amon Duul II within the 'Krautrock' genre is so often understated when compared to other classic bands like Can, Faust, Neu and Kraftwerk – it’s long time that record was put right.
When Germans get experimental, the heavens rejoice. What can I say? If you like searing guitars and buzzed out basses and pummeling drums all assaulting your brain for 24 minutes straight, then you have a destined meeting with the two-part improvisation which is "Yeti/Yeti talks to Yogi". Grungy, psychedelic guitar jam monsters do not get better than this! "Eye-Shaking King" is an awesome piece of music -- simply one of the most authoritative guitar riffs of all time, you must hear it. These guys are afraid of nobody; their music snarls and lurches from your speakers like no other band you've ever heard. "Archangel's Thunderbird" is possibly THE definitive early ADII song: in 3 and a half minutes you get their whole bag of tricks (demonic chord riffing, blasting beats, surging keyboards), plus a stunning vocal delivery from female singer Renate Knaup. Oh, I haven't mentioned her? Well, apparently her voice is an acquired taste, but she truly knocks me out... powerful, dramatic, never unsure, she possibly may be compared to Grace Slick in style and delivery. In any case, the magical mix of all of ADII's broad talents is stunning to behold and is in full display on YETI, making this album indispensable for fans of "Krautrock" and adventurous progressive / psychedelic music in general. Needless to say this is essential krautrock that you must have. A masterpiece of progressive music. A truly great band, and this rare original double album is quintessential Krautrock.
This astonishing double album is a 'MUST HAVE' for 70s KRAUTROCK afficionados, seldom comes up for sale and even less so in such superb condition.
