Description

ALVIN CURRAN / ANNA LOCKWOOD : Source Record Number Six (Source [USA] SR 21/22) 1971.

Record is excellent with minimal light sleeve marks only. Cover is VG+ with a few expected tears where the record was removed from the spiral magazine-binding at the top and a 2" split at the right side.

Great original copy of the sixth 10" record supplement originally included with the seminal UC-Davis New Music magazine Source: Music of the Avant Garde.

Source was founded by members of legendary early '60s avant garde/improv group The New Music Ensemble: Larry Austin (editor), Stanley Lunetta, Dary John Mizelle, Wayne Johnson, and Art Woodbury. The magazine (and its accompanying records) covered nearly every significant avant garde/experimental composer/musician of the era, including John Cage, Harry Partch, Robert Ashley, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Earle Brown, Alvin Curran, Morton Feldman, Jerry Hunt, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Gordon Mumma, Musica Elettronica Viva, Sonic Arts Union, Pauline Oliveros, Dick Higgins, Annea Lockwood, Lowell Cross, Jani Christou, Alvin Lucier, Philip Corner, Henri Chopin, Bob Cobbing, Scratch Orchestra, David Jackman, Cornelius Cardew, Joseph Beuys, Milan Knizak, Nam June Paik, and many more, too numerous to mention here.

Not every issue included a record and the records are numbered separately from the magazine, sometimes causing confusion. This record (#6) and the previous (#5, see our other listings) were included with issue #9 of the magazine (1971).

Note that this listing is for the record only; we do not have the accompanying magazine.

The record includes:

Alvin Curran: Magic Carpet

Annea Lockwood (credited as "Anna Lockwood") : Tiger Balm
