BACH - GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, BWV 988
Featuring ROSALYN TURECK (piano)
One of many, very rare lps featuring David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Leonid Kogan, Johanna Martzy, Ida Haendel, Rosalyn Tureck, Samson Francois & Wilhelm Backhaus listed this week, including some "Grails" and Test Pressings.
This is very rare set with the earliest tax codes, guaranteed first pressings. The correct code for 1958 is XT which ran from June 1st 1957 to 3rd September 1958. The next two tax codes were UT which ran from 1st October 1958 - April 7th 1959 & ET which ran from 8th April 1959 onwards.

Vinyl is EX. Plays with some minor background noise. Clean and bright shine. An enjoyable listen.
ALP 1548 - Side One has a small mark at the start which creates six tics and some light rustles, followed a little later by eight tics / heartbeats. Side Two has a couple of tiny blemishes on band five, a couple of light tics.
