Description
This is a UK 2-LP set from 1955, on HMV, by the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra conducted by Wilhelm Furtwangler ; "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 (The "Choral" Symphony)" (Beethoven) (ALP 1286 / ALP 1287). This is the first issue - flimsy covers with scalloped flipbacks.
CONDITION OF COVER: RECORD 1: VG+ (C+). RECORD 2: VG / VG+ (C / C+) (1" split on back edge).
CONDITION OF RECORD: RECORD 1: VG+ (C+) (SIDE 1: A light scratch causes repetitive soft tic for the last few minutes. SIDE 2: A split-second hiss 5 mins in). RECORD 2: VG (C) (SIDE 3: Tic for 9 revs at start. Some tics (some repetitive) for first 5 mins, and a few scattered tics throughout. 2 soft tics for about 10 revs each 10 mins in. SIDE 4: Tic for 12 revs at start. Some tics (some repetitive) for first 5 mins, and a few scattered tics / light noise throughout. 2 split-second hisses 3 mins in. There are two marks on this side which cause a soft tic for 19 revs, 48 revs, and a moderate tic for 36 revs).
