ALP 1257-61 – WAGNER: DIE WALKURE – FURTWANGLER
HMV mono recording on red/gold labels; boxed set of 5-LPs, catalogue numbers ALP 1257-1261 (RLS 630). Wagner’s opera "Die Walkure" with Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, soloists: Ferdinand Frantz, Martha Modl, Gottlob Frick, Leonie Rysanek, etc.
The 5 discs are in overall in excellent condition – clean and shiny with occasional very light marks. The most noticeable of these is a ¼cm light scratch on side 8 which produces 4 light ticks. 2 very faint marks on Side 1 produce a few very light ticks. We have not played the other 8 sides; we are confident that if there are any audible faults at all these will be minimal. The box is intact but very rubbed at corners and edges.
