ALP 1030-1035 – WAGNER : “TRISTAN & ISOLDE” – FURTWANGLER – Box Set 6-LPs
HMV mono recording on 6-LPs with red/gold labels issued in 1953 as boxed set catalogue no. ALP 1030-1035 (RLS 698) with Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting The Philharmonia Orchestra in Tristan and Isolde by Wagner. Soloists are Flagstad, Suthaus, Griendl, Fischer Dieskau, etc.
The box set is in fantastic condition. One side of each label has a blue/white sticker (see photo). The 6 discs have an unplayed appearance. The 8-page illustrated synopsis and 44-page libretto (in German & English) are truly excellent. Box is clean and intact with some scuffing on corners and a tiny area of laminate lift at bottom front edge (approx. 3cm x 1cm).
