ALL STAR ALBUM Presenting the Original Pioneers of SWING - DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF BIX BEIDERBECKE: Lonely Melody, Mississippi Mud, San, When, Sugar, From Monday On, Louisiana, You Took Advantage of Me, Barnacle Bill The Sailor, and Bessie Couldn't Help It (Victor Album P-4, #s 25366-71). Classic HOT Jazz from a variety of All Star ensembles culled from the Victor vaults, on this very early album of SWING, dedicated to the Memory of BIX! Originally issued in 1936, this is a slightly later pressing, circa 1938. Compiled by Warren School, it includes Bix with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra, as well as his own band, recorded between 1927 - 1930. Bandmates include Tram, Benny Goodman, Joe Venuti, Eddie Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Jack Teagarden, Hoagy Carmichael, and Bill Challis and Ferde Grofe arrangements! With a facsimile of the original booklet. Six records. N- condition: very slightest wear to surface of records, play like new. Some wear to edges and spine of album is taped to reinforce it.
