Michael Caine plays Alfie Elkins a handsome, self-centered womanising Cockney chauffeur who gradually begins to understand the consequences of his lifestyle and eventually meets his match. Sonny Rollins's jazz score for this 1966 film is energetic, incisive, and dramatic, capturing the complex textures of the main character's life
-particularly in the jaunty "Alfie's Theme".
