Description
Outstanding vintage blues LP featuring ALEX HARVEY on the POLYDOR ( Germany) label, from 1964. Title is “The Blues.” This pressing is monaural, catalog number is HI-FI 46 441. Recorded in Hamburg, this is the second LP recorded by Alex for Polydor. He was 25 years old at the time of this recording, and is accompanied by his 16-year old brother Leslie.
Label is red with black print. This is on nice thick vinyl, I believe it to be an original 1964 pressing, not a reissue. Matrix numbers and the year 1964 are machine stamped in the trail-off vinyl. The label has a deep groove close to the spindle hole, approximately one inch in diameter (see scan). Comes with original Polydor poly-lined inner sleeve rpinted in Germany. Also included is the original loose poly outer sleeve in which I found it.
Jacket is in excellent condition, would grade near mint except for the name of original owner neatly written on reverse at upper right (see scan). No splits or other problems, no bends or rips.
Vinyl is pristine gem NEAR MINT, full 100% gloss, appears unplayed. I am certain the winning bidder will be extremely pleased.
