GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : i celebri innamorati disegnati da Raymond Peynet in un viaggio intorno al mondo con la conseguenza evidente che le musiche sono fortemente vincolate dalla geografia del film d'animazione. Esce da questa considerazione il primo brano dell'album "Main Title (Forse Basta)" composto e diretto da Ennio Morricone. E' un tema romantico velato da un pizzico di malinconia con un andamento che a tratti ricorda quella di una dolce ninna nanna e in altri una ballata più intensa con le belle note del pianoforte, la sezione d'archi e i vocalizzi del coro. Inizia poi il carosello di musiche legate alla località dove i due innamorati soggiornano. Così si alternano musica d'ispirazione orientale, valzer anche con il "Schuhplattler" danza tradizionale Tirolese, flamenco, folclore Italiano e Sud Americano e così via. Fra le tracce migliori : "Sirtaki dei Colonnelli" (a4) la celebre danza Greca che ricorda il suo regime dittatoriale terminato proprio in quell'anno. Inizialmente si avvertono le note distorte di uno strumento a corde, forse il bouzouki o qualcosa di simile al sitar, poi interviene il pianoforte con note che evocano drammaticità, il ritmo si fa veloce ed accattivante. "Baronetti" (b2) dedicato all'Inghilterra dei Beatles, dunque musica Beat sottolineata dai vocalizzi del coro con una buona chitarra elettrica e interventi di Hammond. "Made in U.S.A." (b3) dove la prima parte è caratterizzata da uno spiritual del coro per proseguire successivamente con ottima musica jazz.

Notes : the famous lovers drawn by Raymond Peynet traveling around the world with the obvious consequence that music is strongly limeted by the geography of animated film. Out of this consideration  the first track of the album "Main Title (Forse Basta)" composed and conducted by Ennio Morricone. It’s a romantic theme veiled by a touch of melancholy with a performance that at times looks like a sweet lullaby and in others an intense ballad with beautiful piano notes, string section and chorus vocalizations. Starts then the carousel of music related to the locality where the two lovers stay. Thus alternate oriental-inspired music, waltz also with "Schuhplattler", traditional Tyrolean dance, flamenco, Italian and South American folklore and so on. Among the best tracks: "Sirtaki of the Colonels" (a4) the famous Greek dance here recalling its dictatorial regime just ended in that year. Initially, you hear distorted notes by a stringed instrument, perhaps the bouzouki or something similar to the sitar, then the piano notes evoking drama, rhythm is fast and catchy. "Baronetti" (b3) dedicated to Beatles'England, therefore Beat music underlined by the chorus vocalizations with a good electric guitar and Hammond appearances. "Made in U.S.A." (b5) where the first part is characterized by kind of vocalized spiritual to continue later with excellent jazz music.
