By the time this recording was made, Aldo Parisot was settled in the USA where he was Professor of Music at the School of Music of the University of Yale. This recording was made during his short stay in Brazil in 1977 to participate as the director of an International Cello Contest. Parisot plays a 1730 Stradivarius cello, which belonged to Emanuel Feuermann and is believed to be the last cello made by the Master of Cremona, and for that reason it is known all over the world as “The Swan”. Further to Parisot’s outstanding performance, the magnificent Stradivarius sound is wonderfully captured on this recording.
