UST 177 - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp by ALBERTO BALDAN BEMBO / ANGLEO ARIENTI / MAX VERARDI. Original Italian pressing on the FONIT SERIE USIGNOLO label (UST 177), from 1977. Super-obscure and desirable library by the cult Italian soundtrack composer behind Lingua D'Argento / L'Amica Di Mia Madre / Io E Mara etc) with Angelo Arienti and Max Verardi (the guitarist on the Augusto Martelli - Black Sound From White People recording). As you would expect from Bembo, this is another Brazilian influenced / exotic funk tinged session with outstanding bossa and funky lounge. Our soundclip opens with the Alessandroni Spontaneous style groove and male scat of YOU AND ME followed by the wah wah disco cum giallo thriller bossa theme HAPPY MORNING / CHINA TOWN / the cosmic synthesizers and stoned ambience of GOLDEN GATE / the spacey bossa WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES and the funky fusion breaks of FROM RIO. Haunting, UK Hammer horror film guitar lounge vibe throughout MIDNIGHT SHADOWS and the samba drum break sample finishing our soundclip is from GATE 7. Very stylish mood music with a sleazy late '70s undercurrent. Seldom comes up for sale. Rare Library Lp!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few hairlines from sleeve removal. The laminated sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with light wear from storage. Pen writing to back sleeve. Bottom seam area has circa 1cm tear at left corner (not affecting front sleeve) and is also partially unstuck (but can be easily fixed :) Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library 45!!!
