ALBERT KING BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN ORIGINAL STAX S 723 STEREO LP
Vinyl is VG+ or better and has some scuffing and on playback there is some background noise in some places, generally in the quieter parts of the music. This does not take away from the enjoyment of the music which is clear, dynamic and engaging. The Cover is better than VG+ and has some ring wear/discoloration, a name written on the back and some corner wear/bumps (see photos).

Notes
Original 1967 Stax stereo pressing made at Atlantic’s pressing plants, as identified by the matrices. Matrices identify this as a 1967 pressing which was pressed at Atlantic Studios using Longwear Plating metalwork and a Scully Lathe.
There are subtle differences compared to the 1968 stereo pressing, which was pressed at Columbia’s plants, including label texture, label font, matrix numbers and vinyl thickness. The original Atlantic pressings have thicker vinyl, slightly lighter yellow labels with slightly different font and crude hand-etched matrices. The Columbia pressings, which were issued during a brief transition in 1968 between Stax’s termination of Atlantic’s distribution and their acquistion by Gulf + Western, have thinner vinyl with machine-stamped matrices.
This original Stax/Atlantic pressing should not be confused by the short-lived 1970 Atlantic reissue on the green and orange label.

Grade Scale:
(S) SEALED = VINYL assumed mint, never open.
(NM) NEAR MINT = VINYL nearly perfect, no obvious signs of wear. COVER should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes.
(VG++ or EX) VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS or EXCELLENT = VINYL almost NM but it might have a few more superficial signs of use and slight sleeve scuffing. COVER may only have the slightest signs of normal wear.
(VG+/VG++) Between VERY GOOD PLUS and VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS = VINYL may have a bit more signs of use & scuffing than VG++. Surface noise will be more noticeable. COVER may have slight ring wear or discoloration. Very small seam split.
( VG+ ) VERY GOOD PLUS = VINYL may have scuff marks, very light scratches and signs of some wear and will have surface noise in spots, generally still has it's luster. COVER will have slightly more ring wear or discoloration. Minor seam split.
( VG ) VERY GOOD = VINYL has more noticeable scuffs and scratches. Surface noise will be noticeable (may crackle, pop or make other annoying noises), especially in the quiet areas. COVER has minor writing, tape or sticker, ring wear and more seam splits.
( G ) GOOD = VINYL may have multiple scratches or small gouge(s), may have continuous crackles, pops, significant surface noise. COVER has more than normal wear and tear.
