"Eye in the Sky" ist das sechste Studioalbum von The Alan Parsons Project und das kommerziell wohl erfolgreichste der Prog-Rock-Band. Das eröffnende Instrumentalstück "Sirius" gehört zu den bekanntesten des Sports – die Fanfare ist untrennbar verbunden mit der Ankündigung von Michael Jordan und seinen Chicago Bulls bei Wettkämpfen. Der nahtlos anschließende Titelsong wurde zum Charterfolg und ist bis heute auf allen Radiosendern zu hören.

Mit seiner großartigen Tiefe, der Separation auf Konzerthallenniveau und seiner realistischen Darstellung illustriert "Eye in the Sky" hervorragend, wie bedeutend Perfektionismus für die Arbeit von Ton- und Aufnahmeingenieuren ist. Im Fall von The Alan Parsons Project ist diese Perfektion wenig überraschend, saß Parsons selbst doch hinter den Reglern für Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon" und "Abbey Road" von den Beatles.
