Description

Alan Bennett's TV comedy series On The Margin was something of a followup to Beyond The Fringe and is one of his few TV comedy appearances.

"On The Margin" (Polydor 582 037) released in 1968 is one of the rarest comedy records around and is a very funny soundtrack LP from the TV series starring Alan Bennett. Bennett made just one series of the show much of which seems to have been wiped by the BBC, making this LP all the more interesting! The series also features Strictly Come Dancing star and BBC Political reporter John Sergeant in his early days in comedy! John Fortune also appears on record which contains some classic Alan Bennett material including The Telegram and Going To The Excuse Me:
