Ewan Maccoll & A.E. Lloyd - Row Bullies Row

This unusual LP is an 8 Inch disc, I have never seen this size before! It is also only the 7th release on the topic Label with the cat no T7

READ: CONDITION IS BELOW PAR, I AM LISTING ANYWAY BECAUSE THIS IS SUCH A HARD ITEM TO FIND BUT PLEASE READ THE CONDITION NOTES BELOW BEFORE YOU BID

This record is a collection of traditional sea shanties, there is accompaniment in places from a Chorus and Alf Edwards on the Concertina, but the songs are mostly acapella, just as they would have been heard on the sailing ships of the 19th Century. The record comes with a printed insert describing each song, the insert actually covers the tracks on the next Topic Release (T8) as well. The label was clearly run on a shoestring in these early days!

Condition:

Sleeve: the sleeve is made of thin paper which has become brittle with age and has split completely along the bottom with several small pieces missing. The condition of the sleeve is by far the worst aspect of this item. Poor

Record: The record has quite a lot of minor marks and a few more visible scuffs but there is nothing deep. I have listened right through and there is quite noticeable crackle in places but every song plays without jumping. VG

Insert: the insert is a bit browned and is creased at the lower right. VG+
