A-Ha Hunting High and Low 1985 1st Press Shrink Hype OG Inner “Take On Me” VG+/VG.
For auction is a great listeners copy of Hunting High and Low by Norwegian synth-pop band, a-ah. The trios debut album was released in June 1985 in the US and in their native Norway. In the UK and Europe, it was released in October of the same year. Hunting High and Low was a huge commercial success globally reaching the Top-20 in 17 countries, the Top-10 in 11 countries and topping the charts in 3. It peaked at #2 in the UK and #15 in the US on the Billboard 200. The lead single, “Take On Me” was a global smash charting in 21 countries, reaching the Top-10 in 20 and topping the chart in 12 including the US on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK it peaked at #2. “Take On Me” also had an award-winning music video which was groundbreaking for the medium at the time and was in constant rotation on MTV. The single, “The Sun Always Shines On T.V.”, peaked at only #20 in the US but fared much better overseas. Other highlights include the title track, “Love Is Reason” and “Train of Thought.” The album got the band a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist, but they lost to Sade. Hunting High and Low has sold over 3 and a half million copies worldwide and a million alone in the US being certified platinum. This copy is a 1st SRC Pressing.
Vinyl is play graded VG+. Some very light visible surface marks but nothing deep. Plays with faint background noise at times that is far from overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Cover is in VG condition. Partially in shrink. Where the shrink is ripped along the top of title edge there is wear especially in upper left corner. Wear on lower right corner as well. No splits and title is still fully legible. Hype sticker and price sticker on front. Original inner sleeve is included but a generic white die-cut one is used to protect vinyl. Please see pics.
