Description

Polydor 550.194

Artist: Milalao d'Ambohimamory Zandriny Tark'i Rakotomahefa

Titles: Meva Ratsimigana b/w Hay Ny Tsy Mandia Tany

Condition: V++ (general wear, marks, pressing)

Incredibly uncommon Malagasy series from 1937 that I believe had little distribution outside Madagascar - recording is unfortunately balanced terribly, but the music is wild, upbeat, magical. Loud, overmodulated, traditional Malagasy music led by 2 fiddles, and hats off to you if you find another.

Please check my additional listings. I'll be listing some very interesting and rare international/ethnic discs over the next few weeks.
