Description
Here it is, AFI fans, and in MINT CONDITION! The SECOND (and probably the rarest besides the "Dork" split 7") AFI 7" entitled "Eddie Picnic’s All Wet", FIRST PRESSING ON PINK VINYL complete with hand numbered sleeve released in 1994 on their own Key Lime Pie records (which was owned by Geoff, the bass player) and featuring a Frank Sinatra cover! Only 200 were made on pink vinyl so it's VERY RARE! This is HAND NUMBERED #195/200. It was meant to be a "peppermint (red and white swirlies) colored vinyl" but the pressing plant muffed the job and they came out pink! A second pressing was made on black vinyl without the mention "limited pressing of 200 copies on Colored vinyl..." on the sleeve. Features the front cover photos of Davey with a Mohawk and Mark’s legs by Murray Bowles and the back cover picture (featuring Eddie Picnic, which is all wet hehehe) taken by bass player Geoff Kresge. A.F.I. weren't even "East Bay Hardcore" by then as they were originaly from Ukiah, California! By then, AFI was Davey Havok on Vocals, Mark (listed as "Morkissey" here!) on Guitar, Adam Carson (listed as "Adum Aphee" here!) on Drums and Geoff Kresge (listed as "Geoff Stillborne" here!) on Bass. They had broken up after this graduating of high school and releasing "Behind The Times" and re-united for one show at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma, California, on December 29 1993. They recorded that show and released THIS 7" which is a LIVE recording of a part of that legendary "reunion" show and which features their crazy cover of the Frank Sinatra hit "Love is a many splendored thing". During that period, people kept telling A.F.I. that they were great and should get back together and that made them want to continue. So they dropped out of school and moved to the East Bay to become full time "East Bay Hardcore"! You know what happens next... many 7"'s and LP's and now they just signed on a major and are heralded as the "next big thing" even by magazines like Rolling Stone! Track listing: Side A: NY Quil 2.
