Description
Up for auction is an acetate of Shang A Doo Lang by Adrienne Poster, released in 1964 on Decca. This is a one-sided acetate with no labels (though it looks like a once-present label may have been removed at one point). The only clue to its identity is a note in chinagraph pencil stating “Spector 1”. I don’t know if this would have been written by its composers or producer (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards & Andrew Loog Oldham), but maybe you do. Additionally , this version sounds like an early mix; I can’t be sure, as I don’t have a copy of the original 45, but it certainly sounds different from the versions I’m hearing on youtube…
Condition: a few marks on the playing surface, but it plays through OK, with occasional clicks & pops but no jumps or sticks. VG.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
