AC/DC HIGHWAY TO HELL Vinyl SD 19244 ATLANTIC 1979 US First Pressing EX/NM. Vinyl SIDE 1 has light, longer diagonal line and some other light marks. Plays fine. SIDE 2 about full NM; so I’m conservatively grading the Vinyl “net” EX, EXCELLENT. Jacket is a full NM Near Mint. A very nice original copy, has been in my own personal Collection many years. Awesome classic AC/DC Album, the last with Lead Singer Bon Scott. Released July 1979; Bon Scott would die in February 1980. He was definitely a “Character” LOL! He was living the life of a Hard Rocker. A great loss to Metal / Rock.
All the Members of AC/DC were highly talented—Angus and Malcolm Young—Guitars, Bonn Scott—Lead Vocals (and basically the Front-Man in those days, always controversial lol!, Cliff Williams on Bass, and Drummer Phil Rudd. Totally Awesome Australian AUSSIES! These guys were BIG all-through the 1970’s and 1980’s. The record jacket features great front cover Graphics / Artwork of the guys—with Bon Scott having the Devil Horns and Tail (he’s holding it in his hand,) and he has that facial expression that says “F-You!” Haha. The original Australian Album Release Cover was really something—when you get a chance, look it up online. It is pretty wild, the guys are surrounded by flames. Great photo on back of the Band too.
Tracks in this highly popular album include of course, Title Track Highway To Hell, Girls Got Rhythm, Shot Down In Flames (I have felt this way with some girls over the years!), and the powerful classic tune, If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It!!) All songs were written by Angus and Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott. I feel like this Highway To Hell album is Bon Scott’s Legacy to all of us Metal and Hard Rock Fans. It has hit 5X Platinum in Australia, Platinum in the UK, France and Italy, 2X Platinum in Canada, and 7X (SEVEN TIMES — over 7 Million copies sold!) PLATINUM IN THE UNITED STATES. We certainly love our AC/DC in America!
