AC/DC : Back In Black A1 / B1 1st UK Press

This classic plays with superb audio with barely any intrusion and the real stand out is the clarity and depth of the overall sound.  Honestly the depth is just on another level, great production here.  Only 'Hells Bells' has a little interference at the beginning but aside from that the sonic quality is stunning on every track.

The embossed cover has only a little shelf wear which is a rarity.  It is so much cleaner than many you see today.  The printed inner is in superb condition with hardly any wear.

This pressing has 'Made In UK' and ℗ 1980 Laidseplein Presse B.V. on the labels.  It also has 'Printed and Made In England' on the back cover.

Visual description

This vinyl is in very good condition and still has a strong glossy sheen and no scratches.  Under a bright light there are some light hairlines to be seen and just a little mottling but there is nothing that stands out.  Under a more 'forgiving' light the vinyl is very clean!  The Atlantic labels are in excellent shape with just some spindle wear.

Play grading

The 'bell toll' intro on 'Hells Bells' does have some hissy static but then only a minimal amount as the guitar comes in which soon disappears.  As the intro progresses the playback is stunning, the audio plays with remarkable depth and resonance.  Johnson's opening vocal is faultless as is the first chorus and this high end standard is kept up to the very end.  The audio is STUNNING!  I will grade the intro as VG but the rest is Mint for sure.

 'Shoot To Thrill' plays with sublime quality with no intrusion.  Even the 'quieter' instrumental section has no background and it qualifies as Mint from the first note to the last.

'What Do You Do For Money Honey' and 'Given The Dog A Bone' both play 'as new' with zero background.  They just could not play any better - hard and fast with not even a dust tick for company.  The sonic quality is out of this world.  Mint

'Let Me Put My Love Into You' ends the side with imperious quality once more.  With barely any inner groove distortion Mint- is a fair assessment of the audio.

The title track 'Back In Black' has only minimal static at the start and as the classic riff comes in the audio is superb.  The first vocal is flawless and it continues in the same way.  Once again the sheer depth of the music is spectacular helped so much by William's deep bass.  The long fade out also plays very clearly with barely any background.  The intro is Ex+ and the remainder is Mint- at the very least.

The intro on 'You Shook me All Night Long' has only a couple of quiet statics and the opening vocal section can easily be described 'as new'.  From then on the audio is so strong and powerful and the depth is again phenomenal.  A classic track that grades as Mint- and perhaps even the minus is a little harsh!

'Have A Drink On Me' has only one minor static at the start and Johnson's first vocal is as clean and strong as ever.  It continues to play with tremendous power and there is no background to speak of.  The mid instrumental is a prime example of that - superb!  It plays loud and true to the very end with no distortion and grades as Mint-

On 'Shake A Leg' you could say Johnson's voice is 'stretched' even further and yet the sonic quality does not suffer for it.  From start to finish this raucous classic cannot be faulted.  Mint

The quiet intro on 'Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution' plays to perfection and it continues to play... perfectly.  Once again the overwhelming sense is of great depth and power and despite being the final track there is no inner groove distortion.  Another great track and another Mint grade.

The Cover & Picture Inner

The embossed cover is so often found in poor condition but this is not one of them!  A little wear yes but nothing major.  The edges and spine have hardly any rubbing and the corners are in pretty good shape with only a little wear on the top two.  The opening edge has a little 'crimping' only.  The front cover has a couple of small marks, a minor touch of ringwear and some minor creases next to the spine but is so much cleaner than many you find today!  The back cover is very similar with only a minimal faint spotting. minor ringwear and a small crease top left.  A strong example overall.

The printed inner sleeve has only a little ringwear and minor wear on the bottom two corners.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
