WE HAVE UNEARTHED A REAL RARITY HERE...

THIS 1980 UK PRESSING IS IN 'TRANSLUCENT RED VINYL'!

As per the 1970s 'PYE pressings'...we feel this rare copy could be a 'contract press', whereby Atlantic 'farmed out' this LP to a rival company (PYE in this case) to meet demand of the copies required.. we may be wrong, but as experts in these 'translucent red' vinyls, this really looks exactly like a PYE press, so it could be a reason for it

It carries the 'STRAWBERRY' etchings in the dead wax too

SO WE HAVE HERE A REAL RARE COPY FOR YOU - AND AN 'ODDITY' TOO.

WE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS EXISTING...MAYBE YOU KNOW?

ADDITIONAL INFO: Ok, so we have had some rather irritating & pointless messages from people saying we are shining a torch onto the vinyl to make it look red? WHY WOULD WE DO THIS?  We, as i am sure all of our regular customers know, are not in the business of fabricating 'rare records' for what? a few quid.. ha! seriously...

No, what we have done is to hold the record up to the light (as mentioned below... some of these 'people' don't read descriptions it appears) so you can see it is 'slightly see through' (another way of saying translucent folks!) and you will see quite clearly (daylight is even better, but does not photograph alas-hence why we had to show it this way) the RED 'HUE' colour of the vinyl. It is not solid red, and we do not know the rarity of this LP.

So to re-itterate once more- this vinyl is NOT SOLID BLACK. It is not a bootleg, it is not red vinyl.. it is a black transparent vinyl that shows through red, just like PYE pressings did, as described below-

- Stored from new this LP has seen JUST A FEW plays only, and remains in pristine PLAY condition everywhere.

As mentioned, this is pressed in a translucent red vinyl, exactly like the PYE presses of similar age.. we have never seen this before, and all copies we have had are always thick solid black vinyl..

When we held this to the light we were amazed to see..

Maybe you have seen this before on this particular LP?  but we have asked a lot of experts and not one person has heard of it or seen it..

SO... MAYBE IT WAS A CONTRACT PRESSING? (As mentioned above) But again, we have never heard of Atlantic doing this in the UK? We know The Beatles etc had LPs 'contracted' out to meet demand in the 60s, but AC/DC in 1980?  It does not really add up.

WE FEEL WE ARE LOOKING AT SOMETHING EXTREMELY RARE-

THIS REALLY IS A STUNNING PLAY COPY- WITH HARDLY ANY STATIC, AND NO JUMPS OR STICKS

This pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish.

A COUPLE OF spider lines around the centre hole, no wear to the hole.

There are some light whisp lines, and a few little hairlines-  But nothing sounds and there is just a fantastic sound on every track.

Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..

On playing through we heard  the tiniest of lead in static in the dead grooves and the odd littel crackle in a few spots.. all the quiet tracks were super, and nothing we felt spoiled the listening plasure at all

OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.

Correct  2nd UK issued 1980 sleeve  -with the THIN SPINE , EMBOSSED LOGO WITH WHITE OUTLINE (Only the very first sleeves had no white outline to the logo)

 TOP CONDITION WITH NO RING WEAR OR WHITE RUBBING

Remarkably asides from some light spider lines over the edges and spine this sleeve is quite amazing..

NO RING WEAR OR THAT DREADED 'WHITE RUB' ANYWHERE!!

The edges are all super clean with SOME LIGHT traces of rub, and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition

No powdery white ringwear - SOME ring press, and all edges are super crisp.

SOME LIGHT tip rub &  a just couple of  spider lines over the edge of the spine & seam edges,

The spine edge is unmarked with A FEW SQUASH SPOTS

The open edge remains in sharp condition with some light feather spots anda couple of tiny 'nicks'

We cannot add any more than this! ITS A BEAUTY!
