ABBEY ROAD UK APPLE LABEL WITH NO TEXT MEGA RARE -THE BEATLES ONLY 1 EVER SOLD!.
I have contacted Andrew from Parlogram auctions recently and he values this pressing between £300 - £500.
I can almost guarantee that this will be the only copy I will ever come across in my life time and have definitely hesitated to sell and therefore have kept it in a safe box for the last 5 years. I am glad to be able to pass it onto another collector. This is one of, if not the hardest to find and most sought after label error. This label variation is certainly harder to find than the gold please please me (mono at least).
A very small number of copies with this error have sold and they seem to have been not uk pressings or 7 inches. This is because the EMI factories had very high production standards and were very careful to make sure these pressings were discarded and very few made it out to the public.
I have had this checked by multiple record collectors/dealers over the past few years who have all shared there confusion as they have never seen one like it.
I'm completely willing to keep this sale open to offers, as quite frankly there isn't a set market value on this item at the moment. Please feel free to send over what you would be willing to pay, we can discuss it further. No offer will go unconsidered.
I'm almost certain this particular misprint will rise in value in the future, so this could perhaps be a very smart physical investment.
Some people that list an original abbey road album on vinyl on eBay say that there copy omits the 'her majesty' song name on the label, I can say that mine has Nothing at all!
Condition and details:
YEX 749 - 2 YEX 750 - 1
Sleeve has some wear to corners, a few creases and a pen mark with pen ink on it. (See photos) as well as a slight wavy appearance in the front cover. Sleeve is the original Misaligned apple sleeve. It also has a small area on the front where the sky is that has a small faint mark that has been printed onto it and then has sort of been removed. (See photos). Sleeve is certainly far from mint so if you would like to replace the sleeve with a higher quality better condition one to increase the overall value then feel free.
Vinyl has some marks as well as some hairline scratches that i can see under bright light which are probably from being pulled out of the sleeve.
Side 1: There seems to be a static crackle surface noise heard throughout side 1, i don't know how much this will be removed with a good clean. There is also a few clicks heard every so often and annoyingly there is a jump at the end of 'Come together'. The rest plays through fine.
Side 2: again there is a static crackle sounding surface noise but a lot less than side 1 (Again i don't know how much this can be improved with a good clean) as well as a few ticks at the start of 'Here comes the sun' and 'mean Mr mustard'.
