Description
Aaron Copland plays his own Piano Variations
Extremely rare set (I've never seen one), on blue wax, no less. Copland composed his Variations in 1930, and this set was released in 1935. The last side also includes his Nocturne from "Two Pieces for Violin and Piano," again featuring himself on piano, with Jacques Gordon on violin. Columbia Masterworks Set No. 220 (68320 and 68321), 2 12" discs, blue wax, 78rpm. Includes booklet, though it has been folded and is a bit worn. Album is in good shape, though paper on binding edge has come partially loose (binding is still nice and firm).
I have several important and rare classical 78s up for sale this week - please see my other auctions.
I will combine shipping, and I ship internationally. If you have feedback of 5 or less, please email me before bidding. Payment is due within 5 days. Any questions, just ask!
Record condition: E+/E-/E/E+, lamination crack on one side (Lamination cracks are unique to the blue wax substrate and are fairly common. Unlike cracks in conventional shellac 78s, they occur only on one side rather than through the whole record. They will not spread, they do not affect playback, and they should not affect the record's value.)
I grade conservatively, so bid with confidence!
