Greetings everyone! Thanks for stopping by another of my record auctions! I appreciate that you made the time in your busy schedule to check out the goods! I’ve been doing this on ebay for the past 8 years of so, and it’s always fun to have folks show up and see what’s available…though it’s more fun to get what I have sold, and into your hands! Your business is always appreciated, and that’s not just lip service! So let’s see what I’ve got for you folks this time!

This time up, I have what I believe to be an early 1960’s 7” 33rpm single on the Miracle Revival Recordings label, label #s 204-205 from the A.A. Allen Revivals, under the title “Come On Children Let’s Sing!”. This has 2 songs on it, one per side, with the titles “Good Time Children” b.w “Meeting Tonight”. This is not the first time I’ve come across A.A. Allen records, and though this ministry did pump out a bunch of LPs, I have yet to come across any of those, the ones I have found have all been 7” discs, this one included. Now I know that there are a lot of people nowadays who “poo-poo” any Christian recordings, since it’s not “hip” or “cool” to let on about one’s faith. Too bad for those folks, as though I do have faith myself, I’m in no position to really judge others in this regard. But though some people thought of Allen as a huckster or a carny, I can say without a doubt, after hearing these recordings, the man obviously had some faith himself, and with his ministries, did a lot of good for a lot of people, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Plus, he did have some excellent music for his revivals, and this disc will prove that-as well as show there were many who apparently felt the same way. The odd thing about this disc is the choice of A and B sides. The B side, “Meeting Tonight” would be a much better lead in to the flip side, as Allen himself gets into the show with the crowd (and it’s a large, jubilant crowd at that) in Detroit, letting them know there’s going to be a meeting with music, singing, dancing, preaching and praying. And that’s pretty much the side. I know this makes things sound short, but honestly, this side does go on for quite some time as Allen repeats a line, and the crowd finishes each one for him, along with an organ, singing from the crowd, Allen’s tambourine, as well as the crowd all clapping hands. It’s a joyous sound, and the way it starts, makes it seem like the beginning of the show. Which is why “Good Time Children” seems like it ought to be the B side, as this tune continues the sounds of a great time, only on this, there is some bass and drums added to the organ, and about halfway through the song, Allen’s right hand man, Gene Martin gets some vocal action in, and the crowd? The crowd is making such a joyful sound, it’s almost surprising anything else got done, because the energy is redlined, and the enthusiasm is off the charts. “Make a joyful noise” isn’t just a phrase, at least not on this disc, it’s a way of life, and it’s wonderful! The playing surface does have some wear, storage wear, a few needle marks and small dings. With Allen’s apparent penchant for using colored vinyl (this one is a dark red vinyl), that doesn’t always help with the sound quality. Both sides did play through without any problems for the needle, but I did hear some occasional crackling and a few light pops as well. Nothing loud or intrusive, the music and singing easily overcomes that, but just enough crackling to make me only give this my average grading of E as a result. No +, no -, just E. That’s my grading though, and my grading is considered non-standard. If you are considering placing a bid, please read the paragraph that follows this one, as it will show you the gradings and their respective descriptions. It won’t take long to read, please do.  The labels are in nice shape, no noticeable wear, and all the text is clear and easy to read, and this does have it’s original picture sleeve, though the sleeve does have wear, storage/ring wear, lots of bending, and tearing at the opening, and a torn spot on the bottom seam. The rest of the seams have wear as well, though are still intact and holding. If you need more pictures or description, I can and will be happy to provide. My Grading is as follows: M (Mint)-ONLY for Still Factory Sealed Records ONLY! No 45 nor 78 will ever get this grading. E+, minimal wear, perhaps only needs cleaning. E, a few light marks, maybe some minor background crackle and/or hiss. E-, light marks, crackling (nothing major), scuffs, etc.. Not great, but still quite playable. V+, More marks, scuffs, needle marks, scratches-but nothing that would make the needle skip. Will have background noise that even with a cleaning will still be around. V. Worn. Scuffs, scratches, can be noisy, but still (probably) won’t cause the needle to skip nor get stuck. V-, Noisy? You bet! Worn? Oh yeah. Playable? Sure, but don’t expect it to sound all peachy keen. P. Bleah! Playable perhaps, but do so at your own risk. Don’t trash a new needle on it. Only used on records considered rare enough for “fill in” purposes to a collector-or to those who do digital restoration.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NON-U.S. BUYERS!!!!
All items I sell will be sent with postage printed up from eBay. This way, the prices are automatically listed for customs purposes and cannot be altered. Yes, this does mean that the customs people will know the value, but since I get a bit of a price break on postage, I can keep the prices low for you-the buyer.  I will not "mark item as a gift", just so you can evade import rules.  The people at my post office know me, and they will check overseas packages for inspection.  I hope you will understand my position about this, my apologies if you are not able to comply.

Also, international bidders, the price listed for postage on my listings are for domestic mailing.  I wish I could send overseas for that price, but reality speaks different.  I place a fair price on all international postage.  Watch for the invoice if you win.

ALSO-I need to let international bidders know of a certain problem that doesn't always happen, but will arise from time to time.  All International mail sent from this region has to go through the U.S. Postal Service sorting center in Sandston Virginia, by our local airport.  This sorting center has been named the least efficient sorting center in the entire U.S. Postal Service.  They prove this from time to time by mis-routing packages.  If this happens-and I will monitor the delivery-usually it will add at least an extra week for it to arrive.  If there are any problems, please contact me first, and I will do what I must to make sure you are satisfied with the order.
