VIRGILIO SAVONA: PIANETA PERICOLOSO (I DISCHI DELLO ZODIACO – ITALY 1969) LP ****** condition (record/cover): near mint / near mint ****** very obscure album on a sub-label ‘for unorthodox and unconventional records’ of vedette – the library label run by composer armando sciascia, who produced and supervised this lp – conceived and composed by a member of the extremely popular (in italy) quartetto cetra, composer and performer a. virgilio savona. it alternates ballads sung by odis levy with sci-fi pieces narrated by corrado pani on backgrounds of atonal, evocative and experimental music with electric organs, celestas, percussion, electronic effects, etc., which put it in the same league of similar productions like maschine nr.9 and the tower, or other experimental library albums by the likes of egisto macchi, armando sciascia, a.r. luciani, fabio fabor, bruno nicolai, ennio morricone, domenico guaccero, etc.. comes in gatefold sleeve and includes a 16-page lp-size book with lyrics in italian and english. very intriguing and rare. ****** PLEASE CHECK THE ACTUAL SHIPPING RATES: unregistered priority mail is about 9 dollars to europe and 13 dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania where it is 17 dollars), while registered airmail is about 18 dollars to europe and 25 dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania where it is 33 dollars). winning multiple items can make you save on postage. preferred payments is paypal, although other options may be available.
