Description
Private Pressing #LPS-3329/3330. Original pressing of this 1974 double LP which was privately issued by Mike Seeger as an accompaniment to classes taught by him at Cal State Fresno in 1974. Includes 39 cuts from such artists as The Staple Singers, Eck Robertson, Sam McGee, Carter Family, Memphis Jug Band. Each side is subtitled. Side 1 is "Vocal Styles & Combinations." Side 2 is "Traditional Instruments." Side 3 is "Development of Ensembles and Early Commercial Music." Side 4 is "The Development of Commercialized Rural Musics." Includes a 12-page double-sided insert which has a number of check marks and some small writing throughout. Both records are in excellent (VG++) condition. Cover is a generic white cardboard gate fold cover with the title written on the front.
