A PASSING FANCY s/t 1968 Canadian Pop Psych lp Listen!

1968/Canada/Boo Records BST-6801…… here’s a nice Canadian Pop Psych lp that has become increasingly hard to find. The cover is in VG- condition with light shelf/ring wear, corner bumps/wear(see pics), staining on back lower left corner, crease across top left corner, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in clean condition with few light sleeve stains. The record plays clean with light noise at cue and between tracks and odd spots, the thick heavy deep groove pressing plays with clean fidelity so I'll grade it VG++ due to minor light occasional noise. Sound clip is directly from record being offered and has had no sound fixing. Side two plays pretty much the same as side one(recorded). A decent copy! A Passing Fancy Operated out of Toronto, Ontario Canada during 1967-68. They were originally known as Dimensions. Their album is a gem and is very sought-after by collectors. Sporting a beautiful cover it blends groovy pop-psychedelia ("I Believe In Sunshine" and "Island") with garage-punk ("People In Me" and "I'm Losing Tonight") and features some great psychedelic guitar work, particularly on "Your Trip" and "Spread Out." All five of their 45s appear on the album but the 45 version of "People In Me" is different with wild fuzz guitar and screaming vocals from Jay Telfer. The album is essential for connoisseurs of pop-psych, psychedelia and garage punk. Overall the album's quite diverse with the band showcasing an almost chameleon-like adaptability. Tracks such as the slashing "I'm Losing Tonight" and "People In Me" are first-rate garage rock. The title track and the catchy "I Believe In Sunshine" and "Island" showcase a charts hit making sound, while "You're Going Out of My Mind" and "Spread Out" find the band immersed in wild psychedelics. Frequently diversity equates to lack of focus, but in this case it simply makes a great album even better.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

NM or M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches. If I list a rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
