Description

Although this album's title is A JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, it is really  a reprint of SPACE STORIES AND SOUNDS.
This reprint was probably produced in the early seventies.Dan Malan's Complete Guide  to Classics Collectibles written in 1991 doesn't even mention the existence of a reprint  album. So I will quote what he wrote about the original album,"Space Stories and Sounds".

"This LP album is very rare! The LP was produced in 1959 by LION records together with   Classics Illustrated. The LP was a compilation of four stories: 1)First Men in the Moon, 2)   Journey to the Center of the Earth, 3) The War of the Worlds, and 4) The Time Machine.  I will quote from Dan Milan's "Complete Guide to Classics Collectibles" (1991)Volume 1,  page 95,for Space Stories and Sounds.                " In 1958, the next wave of CI A/V items began, the LP era. From 1958-1960, they came out with a new LP every            Christmas.The first LP was the JUNIOR LP, with Robert Q. Lewis narrating 12 JRs: 502,504,505,507,509,512,           513,514,520,524,531,535. Then in 1959 came "Space Stories and Sounds," with Bill Stern narrating CI#s 124,           133,138, and 144. I do not know what Journey to the Center of the Earth has to do with space, so we just call           it the Sci-Fi LP."

This album was produced by MGM probably in the early 70's.

Description: The jacket has been graded as a VERY GOOD++++.There is only light  edge and corner wear with no seam splits.The vinyl record is graded as a NM/MT.
