Description

Found in the basement of a very old home in Johnstown, PA. I offer this interesting group of early country and string type recordings dating from the late 1920s and early 1930s. There are many Columbia Viva Tonal records, Victor Orthophonics and other brands to include: Harmony, Perfect, Conqueror, Decca etc

Some of the bands and artists include: Charlie Poole with The North Carolina Ramblers, George Riley-The Yodeling Cowboy, Blind Jack Mathis, Walter C. Kelly, The Duncan Sisters, Vernon Dalhart, Akins Birmingham Boys, Bill Carlisle's Kentucky Boys, Dixie Ramblers, Chris Bouchillon, Bill Cox and Cliff Hobbs-The Dixie Songbirds, Charlie Bowman and His Brothers, Martin and Roberts, Riley Puckett and Clayton McMichen, Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers, Riley Puckett, Lowe Stokes, Fate Norris, Gardner and David, Frank Welling and John McGhee, Dan Hornsby Trio, Shorty Godwin, Bradley Kincaid, The Westerners Massey Family, Prairie Ramblers, J. W. Day etc, etc.

These records were stored on a basement shelf for what appears to be many years and have no doubt been subject to a sleeveless existance. Most are deserving in my opinion of the V+ grade overall. I noticed that 2 have small cracks and the playing surfaces show wear. A few are somewhat warped. Sold as a lot with a very cheap opening bid of less than $1 a disc.
