Description

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A NICE JAZZ COLLECTION DATING FROM THE 1960s, INCLUDING MANY MONO PRESSINGS, I'LL BE LISTING TITLES FROM THIS COLLECTION OVER THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO - This is an ORIGINAL MONO BLUE NOTE RECORDS U.S. PRESSING OF THE LP titled 'A Date With Jimmy Smith Volume Two'  from jazz organ man Jimmy Smith with a stellar combo, featuring tenor sax man hank Mobley and alto sax man Lou Donaldson.  It is Blue Note Records U.S. catalog number 1548, deep groove rigid vinyl pressing, thick cardboard cover, with the 'RVG' machine stamp in the runout area.  Blue Note Records address is shown as '47 West 63rd New York 23' on the record labels and '43 West 61st St., New York 23' on the back album cover.  The original '27 Years Blue Note' inner sleeve with pictures of other then-current Blue Note Records LPs is present and included.

Recorded by Rudy van Gelder on February 11 & 12, 1957.

Personnel: Organ – Jimmy Smith / Tenor Saxophone – Hank Mobley / Trumpet – Donald Byrd / Guitar – Eddie McFadden / Drums – Art Blakey, Donald Bailey.

Condition of record is a real nice EX/NM- with just a very few very tiny and barely existant sleeve marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play preventing a NM grading.  Record plays very quietly with almost no surface noise.  Condition of cover is EX with the original shrinkwrap still surrounding the cover with a couple of very small tears in the shrinkwrap at the open corners and a tear in the shrinkwrap along the middle of the bottom edge, and the only real flaws worth mentioning being a trace of ring and contact wear and a little wear along the open edge and on the corners on the open edge.  Cover has no water damage, tape, splits, tears, writing, or stickers.  '27 Years Blue Note' inner sleeve has a few very slight wrinkles, no other flaws.  This original 1960s press mono LP would be a nice addition to any Blue Note Records or modern jazz record collection!  Winning bidder pays $4.00 media mail postage or actual priority mail postage within the U.S.  I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - PLEASE NOTE: NEW FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL AIRMAIL POSTAGE TO AREAS OUTSIDE THE U.S EXCEPT FOR CANADA (13.50) AND GERMANY is $20.50 - YES IT'S CRAZY, THIS IS THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE AS OF 1/27, NOT ME!!!  PLEASE NOTE: AN EXTRA $13.95 TO COVER REGISTERED POSTAGE WITH TRACKING AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY WILL BE ADDED TO ALL SHIPMENTS VALUED OVER $50.00 GOING TO BUYERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES.  ALSO, DUE TO THE GERMAN POST AND CUSTOMS CONTINUING FAILURE TO DELIVER MY PACKAGES, I AM FORCED TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL $13.95 TO COVER REGISTERED POSTAGE WITH TRACKING AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY TO ALL SHIPMENTS GOING TO GERMANY.  I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS, BUT I CANNOT CONTINUE TO LOSE MONEY AND HAVE MY EBAY REPUTATION DAMAGED BY THE GERMAN POST AND CUSTOMS' INABILITY TO DELIVER MY PACKAGES.  Please e-mail me for postage rates to other areas outside the U.S.!   WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP if winning bidder is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
