ON THE YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL

1st Pressing Matrix Numbers

1966 Earliest 1st Stereo UK pressing on the yellow and black Parlophone label. 

"The Gramophone ...." text on the label rim, "Sold in the UK text" and without "Recording first published on labels.

 

Cover: Excellent+. This is the Garrod & Lofthouse 1st pressing  cover which is laminated on the front (unlaminated rear) with the rear triple flip-backs and 'pinched' spine. No writings/doodles or seam splits - which is amazing as most  Beatles records from this era have some writing/doodles or messages on them.  You will struggle to find a better one than this. See photos.

 

Inner sleeve: Emitex poly-lined inner sleeve is Excellent+.

 

Labels: Excellent+. No writings, doodles or stickers. 

 

Vinyl:  Play tested. Looks Excellent with a few light hairlines and a nice sheen. Plays VG+. No skips/jumps. Some background crackle between tracks but less noticeable during the tracks except in the quieter parts. A real testimony to the durability of these UK first pressings. Sounds great in stereo.

Gradings.......

 

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
