Limited vinyl LP pressing of this classic 1964 album. One of the biggest-selling jazz albums of all time, not to mention bossa nova's finest moment, Getz/Gilberto trumped jazz samba by bringing two of bossa nova's greatest innovators - guitarist/singer João Gilberto and composer/pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim - to New York to record with Stan Getz. The results were magic. It's release helped fuel the bossa nova craze in the United States and internationally, becoming the first Grammy Award-winning album from non-American artists. It brought together Stan Getz, who had already performed the genre on his LP Jazz Samba, João Gilberto (one of the creators of the style), and Jobim, a celebrated Brazilian composer (and also one of the main creators of the genre), who wrote most of the songs in the album. It became one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and turned Astrud Gilberto, who sang on the tracks "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Corcovado", into an internationally celebrated musician.

Jeff Beck released two albums in the mid-70’s that were, and still are, considered standards by which other guitar instrumental albums are evaluated.  The first was “Wired”.  This was the other, and it is one of my favorite albums of all time.  The album is totally instrumental, so the experience is one of enjoying his incredible talents.  He did bring a group of incredible musicians to the studio with him to record this amazing album, including Stevie Wonder who wrote two of the tracks and also performed (uncredited) on one of the tracks.  This is a sensational album.
