Description

9 Reggae LPs  + 2 12" Singles

This lot consists of 9 reggae albums - most hard to find - plus two 12" singles.  There's a 12th record in the images that I have now listed seperately.

As follows:

(1) Artist: Singers and Players
Title: Vacuum Pumping
Date: 1988
Label: On U Sound
Background Notes:  From Wikipedia: Singers & Players were a reggae collective made up of vocalists and musicians associated with Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound Records. They recorded 5 albums between 1981-1988. Comprising of artists such as Bim Sherman, Prince Far I and Mikey Dread they were regarded as something of a Dub music supergroup. There was never any fixed line up to the group and many different artists featured on each track and each album.

Background notes: From a web site "Labelled as the REGGAE AMBASSADOR, Iqulah continues the mission of great reggae artistes, such as Bob Marley, to bring reggae and Rasta to the four corners of the Earth. In 1985, IQULAH, who's name represents Integrity, Quality, Unity and Love for Africa as Home, set up his own label, Mozziah, to release a number of 7in disks to kick start his musical career in Jamaica.  Not long after, Iqulah and his band, Gideon Force, released their debut album, Rasta Philosophy, which featured amongst many vocalists, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt on harmonies. This album marked a significant time for Iqulah and Gideon Force, when they decided to leave the Jamaican shores to tour the continents, carrying the Rasta message across many borders..."Condition:

How I grade - after examining under a bright lamp:
MINT: Unplayed - record, sleeve, inner sleeve and any inserts are all as new, and label has no spindle hole wear.
NM: Known to have been played but vinyl is virtually pristine.  Label almost as new but indication of record being played may be visible at spindle hole.  Sleeves almost perfect.
EX: Vinyl is free of scratches but may have scuff marks.  Slight wear may be present at spindle hole. Sleeve has slight wear but nothing significant.
VG+: Vinyl will have just a few light scratches but will play without crackles or any serious sound problems; label may have some wear marks.  Sleeve will have easily visible wear.
VG: Expect some light scratches; loss of some sheen on the vinyl; easily visible wear at spindle hole; perhaps a name neatly on label or sleeve; a touch of surface noise; fairly significant sleeve wear.
