Description
Here's an original 8" x 10" publicity photo of the Scranton Sirens from the 1923-24 period, posing with their correct instruments for a change. They are, from left to right, Sid Tucker (as); Ted Noyes (d); Alfred Evans (ts); Eddie Lang (bj), Mike Trafficante (bb); Itzy Riskin (p); Billy Lustig (v, cond); Vic D'Ippolito (tp); Russ Morgan (tb). The size of the image is 6" x 9-3/8". The photo was taken by the Scott studio of Philadelphia.
Morgan has inscribed the photo in fountain pen to a fellow performer as follows: "Future success to My Pal 'Dottie.' 'Russ' Morgan."
This sepia-toned photo is in excellent condition overall, with one significant flaw: three small white areas in the curtain in the upper left-hand corner of the photo. The white areas are not damage to the photo, but a flaw in the original printing process. The contrast is is good. The autograph is clear. The back is clean. The photo has been well cared for, for about 95 years.
