PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The Old Masters box set series was a Frank Zappa project. Zappa released three different volumes on Barking Pumpkin Records from April 1985 to December 1987, consisting of studio and live albums by Zappa and The Mothers of Invention originally released from 1966 to 1976 on other labels, as well as "Mystery Discs" which contained previously unreleased material. The graphics (not including the photo inserts) on all three sets was airbrush illustrated by Larry Grossman.Individually numbered on back of box. Number begins with ZM2 followed by a 5-digit serial no.
The BOX SET OLD MASTERS VOLUME II contains seven LPs by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention originally released between 1969 and 1972 -- Uncle Meat, Hot Rats, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Chunga's Revenge, Fillmore East--June 1971, and Just Another Band From L.A.-- plus a bonus 8th Lp "Mystery Disc" of previously unreleased material from the '60s period. As such, it continues the story begun in The Old Masters, Box One bringing Frank Zappa up to the point that he had been injured by a fall from the stage in 1971 and broken up the second edition of the Mothers of Invention.
"Deluxe" is definitely the word for The Old Masters: The original covers are reproduced, gatefolds and all, in all of designer Cal Schenkel's demented glory.
The box sets were constructed at Zappa's Utility Muffin Research Kitchen home studio. The albums being remixed and reedited, are substantially different from their original releases.
