It is to show you the retail store bought copies were all pressed on purple vinyl. Not on the easy to find black vinyl promos.  If you would choose to open it, this would make a great visual display for somewhere as well.

For sale in this auction with no reserve is a Rare SEALED 1979 Retail version, 1st Original Pressing  DESTINATION "From Beginning To End" PURPLE VINYL LP.
Original and SEALED on PURPLE VINYL LP 1979 (BUTTERFLY 3103).  Condition is New/old store stock.  Shipped with USPS Mail.

Rare NON Promo Purple Vinyl DESTINATION "From Beginning To End" Original New/Old Stock SEALED Retail LP from 1979 (BUTTERFLY 3103). The promo version was pressed on black, making this a more sought after piece with the colored vinyl. And then to it still factory sealed after all this time is nice!
Original pressing with 2 HYPE STICKERS on shrink wrap (no UPC barcode on back of the sleeve). Shrink wrap has slightly-partially come open towards the top on the inner seam from shelf wear, but this is considered still factory sealed as if new. See the pictures for better details.

This NON Promo, old-new stock Retail Version that's still Factory Sealed 1979 LP is supposed to be pressed on Purple Vinyl. Since it's sealed I have no way to verify this btw, however it should be the case! Free Promo copies were pressed on black vinyl.

Classic Disco record featuring amazing guitar work from ARDESHIR FARAH (of STRUNZ & FARAH) who also co-wrote many of the songs. Also featuring KATHLEEN BRADLEY on vocals (actress/model later on The Price Is Right). 
PS, since the album is still sealed, there's no guarantee that the vinyl is mint or purple, but it is assumed so based on experience. Sold as is with no returns please being sealed.
