Description
Up for your consideration is a Greek Columbia Viva-Tonal 78rpm record, blue shellac number G-56343-F. Note that I'll use an online translation tool where needed to try and get the right artist name for listing purposes but please excuse any potential errors.
Songs are:
Side A: Sto Kafe Aman by Marika Polytissa Side B: Ta Lepta Sou Den Ta Thelo by Rosa Shkinasi
See my record grading below. I grade conservatively and it takes a real nice record to have either E grade next to it (I've never used E+!).
Condition: VG+ A side has a couple small faint lam cracks at the beginning which only give a couple light ticks, otherwise VG+
Please see my other auctions for more records. I will be selling quite a few ethnic78s coming up so show check back often. There will be mainly Greek and Turkish but also Syrian, Arabic and others ranging from the 20s to the 50s, on a variety of labels. Combine on shipping for multiple wins. If you want me to hold waiting on others just let me know.
I'm a 78rpm record collector so know how to pack 78s properly for shipping. I can send up to 4 10" records media mail for $4 in the USA, 7 for $5, 11 for $6. If interested in more or international please inquire. Thanks for looking.
Condition for 78rpm records:
E+ = New stock, never been opened or played
E = Bright and shiny, no scuffs or scratches. Looks new but has been played
E- = Still bright and shiny, shows some signs of handling but nothing that would create extra noise during playback.
VG++ = Showing a little more sign of wear, maybe a few light scuffs or minor scratches but nothing that would create extra noise during playback.
VG+ = Shows signs of wear with some scuffs and minor scratches. Nothing that would create noticeable loud ticks during playback but will play with some background noise.
VG = This is a well played record with minor scuffs, scratches and maybe even some graying in areas. However, the record still plays well and can be enjoyed.
VG - = Begins to have scratches that make the record quite noisy on playback and have noticeable ticks from scratches.
G = This is a record that, for some, can still be enjoyed until a better copy comes along. Lots of scratches, may even make the record skip. Possible hair line fracture. Likely this grade of record will only be listed if it’s a rarer record where the content or label is highly collectable.
P = This record is either broken or otherwise unplayable. Again, this would only be listed if it were very rare and interesting for historical information.
